Creation of the ALP (AGENCE LACANIENNE DE PRESSE)
Jacques-Alain Miller is pleased to announce the creation, on
5 September 2001, of the LACANIAN AGENCY PRESS (ALP).
The Agency will send its dispatches by Internet, by Electronic mail. This task
has been entrusted to Pierre Sidon. Its site is in preparation. At the beginning
the ALP will be devoted and give priority to following the development of the
publicity campaign emerging from the open JAM Letters. The first letter was
printed yesterday.
In a second phase, the Agency will widen its field of interest till it embraces
today's psychoanalytic news in France and in the world. The need to improvise
this creation prevents a toast to this inauguration. JAM apologises for this.
It will take place on another occasion.
FRANCE-PRESSE AGENCY
París, 4 September (AFP) - Psychoanalysis Edition : Open
letters of Lacan's son-in-law against the Paris Psychoanalytic Society. We have
learnt, on Tuesday by Seuil, that after the conflict with the French Journal
of Psychoanalysis, Jacques-Alain Miller, Lacan's son-in-law, will distribute
the open letters to review the history of half a century of dissension between
the International Psychoanalytic Association and the students of Lacan. These
letters will be freely available, in a certain number of bookshops and will
form part later of a *larger publication* edited by Seuil. The French Review
of Psychoanalysis is the medium of the Paris Psychoanalytic Society (SPP), to
which Lacan handed his resignation in 1953, and which is in France, the main
organisation of the International Psychoanalytic Association which excommunicated
Lacan in 1963.
Jacques-Alain Miller, who presides over the World Association of Psychoanalyis
(WAP),
is the editor of the Seminars of Jacques Lacan, who was a great and controversial
figure
of Psychoanalysis, who was born in 1901 and died on 9 September 1981.
