A CALL, JUST IN CASE!
—Are you an analyst?
—I was told that you are an analyst. I call you to find out if you would receive me, if needed?
As with maternal primal relationships, the analyst could also be asked to respond to a need, and his cabinet, the analyst’s cabinet, might stand as the place to meet that request. At the other end of the line, on the analyst side, listening leaves an empty place where the need could, if necessary, be uttered as a demand.
The phone rang, it was the middle of the night. I glanced at the clock, it said 4:30 am. My boyfriend was saying
—Yes, I’ll give you to her.
—Well, I am feeling suicidal...
—Well, let me wake up. I’m coming to the other room……
—Yes, you are sleeping with another man.
—An Other man?
—No need to come to the other room. Already, hearing your voice was enough to feel much better. See you tomorrow, at my 4 pm session.
