Dum\u00e9zil? Bourbaki? The Foucault of The Order of Things?<br \/>\nWho was their philosopher, their Minerva\u2019s owl?<br \/>\nOr Mallarm\u00e9, who knows?<br \/>\nAs he was wont, L\u00e9vi-Strauss has passed away,<br \/>\nthe haughty and melancholy genius of structuralism.<br \/>\nHe had to fight hard to be recognised,<br \/>\nand to clear the room, to build the house,<br \/>\nwe live in still.<br \/>\nWe shall not see his like again.<\/p>\n<p> <!--more--><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif\" color=\"000000\" size=\"2\">Nous apprenons avec une grand \u00e9motion<br \/>\nle d\u00e9c\u00e8s de Claude L\u00e9vi-Strauss,<br \/>\ndont l\u2019inspiration a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9terminante<br \/>\ndans la gen\u00e8se et les premiers d\u00e9veloppements<br \/>\nde l\u2019enseignement de Lacan.<br \/>\nNous nous inclinons avec respect<br \/>\ndevant la m\u00e9moire de ce grand homme.<br \/>\nCe n\u2019est pas un vain mot que de dire<br \/>\nque son \u0153uvre restera vivante &#8211;<br \/>\npour les ethnologues, on ne sait pas,<br \/>\nc\u2019est une peuplade qui mange ses totems,<br \/>\nmais pour les psychanalystes, c\u2019est s\u00fbr,<br \/>\nau moins pour nous.<br \/>\nJe rappelle ici le nom de Roman Jakobson,<br \/>\ndont L\u00e9vi-Strauss et Lacan furent les amis et les \u00e9l\u00e8ves,<br \/>\net \u00e0 qui nous sommes tous redevables.<br \/>\nIl doit y avoir un quatri\u00e8me:<br \/>\nSaussure? Dum\u00e9zil?
