Psychoanalysis is changing, that is a fact,” Jacques-Alain Miller affirmed in his introduction to the AMP’s Congress in Rio on the speaking body.1 And here he saw if not the proof then at least a clue in the fact that Lacan finished (contrary to what he denied still in Télévision in 1973), by substituting the notion of the unconscious as used by Freud with that of parlêtre.

Whereas the concept of the unconscious is linked to the symptom, that of parlêtre allows us to move to the sinthome (the real unconscious) without denying the transferential unconscious.
